Tulsa Symphony has partnered with Philbrook Museum and the Tulsa American Film Festival to present a VIP screening of the documentary “Feral Love” by Markie Hancock. The film follows Dorian Rence, a Ponca City native, who was the 7th woman to be accepted in The New York Philharmonic and in her 40-year career she has played with all of the greats: Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez, Zubin Mehta, Luciano Pavarotti and Yo-Yo Ma to name a few.
In 2001, Dorian Rence started the Artemis Project, whose mission is to help homeless, distressed animals — mostly cats — in New York City, and the film follows Rence as she tends to her own community of feral cats living near the Amtrak train tracks under the West Side Highway.
