TULSA, Oklahoma –The Tulsa Symphony Orchestra’s new season will bring Tulsa a euphoric experience. The 2023/24 concerts will excite the senses with classical music’s most adored works, including the opening night performance of Prelude: Beethoven’s 5th on September 9th, Masquerade: Shostakovich’s 9th Symphony, Honor, Americana: Price’s Symphony No. 1, Ebb & Flow: Brahms’ Symphony No. 3, Fantastique Experience: Berlioz’ Symphonie fantastique, Fame & Fate: Mozart’s Requiem, and Finale: Mahler’s 5th Symphony. The TSO is honored by the generosity of the Patti Johnson Wilson Foundation for underwriting this classic’s series. Additionally, the TSO will present a live film experience of How the Grinch Stole Christmas in Concert with live orchestral accompaniment at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.
TSO at TU continues its chamber orchestra series, underwritten by the David B. Waters Charitable Foundation, at The University of Tulsa’s Lorton Performance Center with performances on October 15th and April 7th. TSO’s beloved chamber music performances will return as the Josephine G. Winter Chamber Music Series and will be performed at Tulsa’s First Church – First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa.
To lead this year’s set of wide-ranging repertoires, TSO welcomes several renowned conductors to lead the Orchestra. They include Marcelo Lehninger, Music Director of the Grand Rapids Symphony; Gerard Schwarz, Music Director of the All-Star Orchestra; Daniel Hege, Music Director of the Wichita Symphony; and Sarah Hicks, Principal Conductor for Live at Orchestra Hall for the Minnesota Orchestra.
