TSO Board of Directors

Linda Frazier

A native Tulsan, Linda Frazier has had a lifelong involvement in the arts both as a musician and as a volunteer and advocate.  She is currently chair of the Arts Commission of the City of Tulsa.  In addition to the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors, she is also a member of the Boards of the Arts and Humanities Council, Tulsa Ballet, Tulsa Historical Society, Oklahoma Arts Institute, Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics Foundation, Quartz Mountain Arts and Conference Center and Nature Park, and Mid-America Arts Alliance.  She served three terms on the Oklahoma Arts Council and four years as chair. She is past president of the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa, Chamber Music Tulsa, and the Junior League of Tulsa.

As president of the Arts and Humanities Council in 1990, Linda, with Chamber of Commerce Chairman John B. Johnson, Jr., led efforts to develop Tulsa’s Cultural Plan, and in 1995-96 was vice-chair of the Cultural Affairs Task Force of the Goals for Tomorrow.  She was founding chair of the Harwelden Institute of Arts in Education, a program of the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa.  She has twice received the Pinnacle Award in the Arts and Humanities and, in 1991, was the recipient of the Governor’s Arts Award.

About the TSO...

The Tulsa Symphony Orchestra employs professional musicians with the focused, collective, and ongoing aim of presenting all kinds of music of the highest quality. The TSO functions throughout the year, and is comprised of self-governing “executive musicians”—individuals who perform masterful music and execute the many decisions involved in sustaining a major orchestra. With a variety of performances and concerts, in-school events, community-engagement programs, classroom lessons, collaborative master classes, and other such appearances, the TSO intends to invigorate and broaden arts education all across the City of Tulsa and, further, the State of Oklahoma. Rebuilding and strengthening the musical arts infrastructure of this city and its environs will remain a key concern and core value of the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra.
